Never was anything sweet sounding so pure, like a harp with moonbeams for strings.
I see with my own eyes a songbird, she soared to the rose tree to sing me some more.
Never was anything on this earth so sweet, like a lark’s voice in desolation.
I’m here in the grove, the songbird she sang, then took flight, sweet bird on the wing.
Never was anything sweet sounding so pure, I followed like lamb to the ewe;
To the rose tree delighted by soft tuneful song, the sun setting low in the west.

Never had I seen the most colour in the world. Oh! This morning enchanted and changed!
